A Rude Intrusion :: Day 65

This is my blog for day 65 of cancer treatment and recovery, Wednesday, 13 Sep 2017.

No doctor appointments today. In fact, I have none until the end of the month.

My return-to-work date is Friday, 29 Sep 2017. Did I mention this before? I'll meet with the oncologist (or his PA) and get clearance to return on the 26th, when we next meet.

Food, food, food! Eating is on my mind, and progress is being made! I had a scrambled egg this morning, a hot dog, cheese and crackers at lunch and rice at dinner time. Before you get too excited, I need to mention that this was a hot dog and a hot dog alone at lunch time. No bun, no mustard, no onion, no "easy relish" - the way I usually get it. But everything went down well, and it feels good to start eating once more. (I also did a bag feeding at dinner to get the calories I need, though I was probably short.)

Nancy and I went to Hobby Lobby today before lunch. It was nice to walk around the store, and we picked up a little something for the house.

I spoke with Nancy's Aunt Yolanda in San Antonio yesterday. She sounded as good as she has in quite a while, and it was really good to hear her voice. She, too, has had some health challenges recently, and I'm hoping we can get down to see her soon.

The rest of the day was spent installing an upgrade to my computer, configuring it to run virtual machines, and trying to get some old DOS games to run under a software tool called DOSBox. (The last with no luck.)

All in all, a nice day.

Found a song worthy of posting on this blog: Stuck In The Middle With You, by Stealers Wheel - Link.

I have not posted anything by The Guess Who. How did that happen? I love this band; they were a big influence on me growing up. Here's a version of No Time with an extended opening and closing - Link. I always said that I would do three "Time" songs together in a set if I had a band - No Time, Time After Time (Cyndi Lauper) and Time (Pink Floyd), in some order, but probably ending with the Pink Floyd song. Just thought I'd throw that in . . .
