A Rude Intrusion :: Day 21

This is my blog for day 21 of cancer treatment, Sunday, 30 Jul 2017.

Another beautiful day today - 82 degrees and sunny! Sat outside with Linda Martinez, her two younger boys and a grandson this morning, then saw Nancy's sister Linda and her husband Bryan, as well as my mother-in-law Sonja, for lunch. Yesterday's visitor was our friend Beth, a teacher, like Nancy. We took a walk and sat outside to talk about all kinds of things. On Saturday afternoon I spoke with Nancy's brother Bill, who stopped by the house, and in the afternoon and evening we entertained Kim, a social worker from the hospital and friend. So it was a busy weekend with friends, and it certainly helped my spirits.

Bryan and I watched the Cubs win a game today, though we both napped on-and-off. Then it was on to the Canadian Open golf tournament for a short while before they left to head home.

All in all, a nice weekend.

Today's music: two classics of another sort: Time (here) and Comfortably Numb (here) by Pink Floyd.  One comment states it perfectly: "No flashy wardrobe, no sexual innuendo,  no ranting and raving of how good you are, no dirty and dull lyrics, no auto tune, no dancers, no repetitive beats. There is just pure and delicious musical ingenuity." Pure and delicious, indeed!
